ONLINE VAT REGISTRATION APPLICATION FORMS:

Who must register?

A business with an annual turnover of more than R 1 000 000 is obliged to register for Value Added Tax. This s a COMPULSORY VAT Registration.

A business with an annual turnover of less than R 1 000 000 but more that  R 20 000 may also register for Value Added Tax. This is a VOLUNTARY VAT Registration.

You are required to register as soon as you expect your business turnover (total gross sales) to exceed 

R1 000 000 for a period of 12 consecutive months.  Please note that it is your responsibility to determine whether you need to register or not.  If you are in doubt, please feel free to contact us.

 

What documentation must I provide?

  1. Latest original bank statement or original cancelled cheque or original letter from your banker.

  2. If the bank account is NOT in the name of the vendor, you must complete the VAT119(i) form.

  3. A certified copy of the ID of the representative person.

  4. Signed Power of Attorney.

  5. Declaration by representative vendor.

  6. Copies of latest 3 months bank statements (no older than 1 month from date of application)

OR

  • Copy of financial information used to determine value of taxable supplies (only if less than 3 months bank statements are available or no bank statements available)

The above-mentioned documentation must accompany all VAT applications.
